Sclerotherapy injections are a minimally invasive treatment performed by Dr. Haney or one of our licensed nurses at Ozark Regional Vein & Artery Center.

Our sclerotherapy treatment in Rogers, Arkansas uses either Asclera (polidocanol) or Sotradecol (sodium tetradecyl sulfate). Sclerotherapy works by safely damaging the inner walls of the vein, which collapse over time. The vein shuts down and your body absorbs the closed vein over time.

A free consultation will determine how many syringes of you may need based on the severity of your spider veins.

We serve patients from all over Northwest Arkansas, including Bentonville, Springdale, Fayetteville, and beyond.

Some patients may need multiple rounds of sclerotherapy to achieve desired results, other will need the injections only once.

You will experience a slight burning sensation during the injections.

Spider veins are often inherited. Although injected veins may be permanently closed, new spider veins can develop over time.

Administrating the Injection

Dr. Haney administers the sclerosant via injections. Depending on the severity of your venous reflux, Dr. Haney may or may not use ultrasound guidance. He injects the solution directly into the affected veins, causing the diseased veins to scar and collapse.

Cool Down

The veins will typically stay visible for several weeks, on occasion a couple of months, until they are completely absorbed by your body. No downtime is required after treatment, but we do recommend that you avoid lifting weights or intense exercise, long flights, hot tubs, and sunbathing for 72 hours.
