Does geniculate artery embolization hurt?

Different patients have different thresholds for pain, irritation, and discomfort, but you will likely not feel any serious pain during the procedure. For this reason, you should not need to go under anesthesia during the procedure. That said, you may receive an IV with some pain relievers. You will be conscious during the surgery, but you will be comfortable throughout the process. It’s important that you’re relaxed during your treatment, so be sure to let your provider know if you’re experiencing any discomfort.
